Engagement Photos

We booked our photographer!

It wasn’t the easiest decision.  I first fell in love with another photographer but after chatting with her for a while she broke my heart with a HUGE price tag.  I looked into several others who came highly recommended by both our coordinator and venue contact.  But Kristen totally won me over! When I discovered that an Engagement Session Shoot was included in our package I got really excited.

November 3rd will hopefully be a sunny gorgeous day in Santa Barbara wine country.

So now I’m trying to ‘prepare’ myself by finding inspiration on poses and what to wear etc…

I know I don’t want the following:

(let me first say that I apologize to the people in these photos, I’m very happy for you and your engagement shoot vision, it’s just not what I’m looking for, best of luck with your marriage!)

Matching sports jerseys (gross)

but if I was going to do it, this is kinda cute… (kinda)

No oddly serious photos (this is a happy time right? and we are about the least serious people around)

I also will NOT be incorporating any signs with little sayings or our wedding date or some sort of dialogue like “he asked and I said yes”.  Yeah it can be cute, but it’s just not my bag.

I also think that the “sex” factor should be very small.   I mean obviously we will look super sexy but there is NO need for porno poses.

What I DO really like are;

outdoor photos with a lot of nature

bicycles (maybe Mike on the handle bars while I pedal?)

candid moments

(Part of me just wishes we were going to Walmart’s photo studio with a bunch of different matching sweaters and shirts)

I am pretty upset that Gilligan won’t be able to make the drive to Santa Barbara (except he would have totally stolen the show in the photos).

This is Awesome
