The New Digs

24 Jan

So I give ALL the credit to my charming fiance for finding this gem of a condo.

If you aren’t in LA/NYC or have never lived in LA/NYC then please prepare yourself for some extreme excitement over what some would consider a 2 bedroom apartment.

I consider it a roomy palace with gorgeous light streaming in the many windows, tall ceilings, TWO bathrooms (yay yay yay) and proximity to all things wonderful in this city.

It was hard to leave Santa Monica (we moved about 3 miles east to Brentwood) but the ocean is still not so far and we are both closer to work.  Our building is poetic (ahem, slightly older and needing some work) and we have a working elevator, hooray!  I must say though that our intercom system is just dumb.  Our friends can push a button outside downstairs and it will make this fun retro phone in our kitchen ring.  We’ll say, “oh hey, you’re here!”  And they’ll say, “yeah we are, can you buzz us in?”  And then we’ll have to say, “no this place doesn’t have electronic buzz doors so I will have to come down and open the door for you.”

*wish we had buzz doors*

So for now I’m going to share the photos that were put up during the listing.  We are currently doing some fun renovation projects and working with the little dream team designers Caitlin & Caitlin so be prepared for the during and after photos to come!

I can see why you love it – it’s beautiful! Your kitchen is great, with plenty of room for the cook and a helper, and having a window over the kitchen sink is so nice. And room for plants in that window is a big plus! Your buzz system may be irritating at times, but may
actually be safer. Looking forward to the stories and photos as you make this place truly yours. :o)

Yes, yes, yes, everything she said, it’s wonderful. Bow to the gods too for the gas (rather than electric) range. And I think the building’s appearance is wonderfully unique.. Can’t wait for more Sweetie.
